Disability History & Awareness Weeks

Since 2008, Florida has recognized the first two weeks of October as Disability History & Awareness Weeks, a time to build understanding, respect, and inclusion for people with disabilities. They’re a chance to learn about the history of the disability rights movement and the people who fought for equal access to education, work, and community life. At PBSFA, this is part of who we are every day, and these weeks give us a chance to celebrate our students’ strengths, voices, and achievements. Join us by learning something new, sharing a story of inclusion, or recognizing someone who helps make our community a place where everyone belongs!
